It is believed that there are several hundred Calligraphy Guilds throughout the world today. The term Guild hearkens back to the medieval times when artisans and craftsmen formed associations of like-minded and similarly skilled individuals to further their skills and their trade.

Calligraphy Guilds come in various shapes and sizes and do not require any particular level of skill for membership. Some are highly structured with charter and bylaws, officers, and committee chairs. Others are loosely gathered groups who come together periodically for sharing, education, and fellowship.

ACA is striving to identify as many "Guilds" as possible and list them in this directory. We welcome information that updates our listings. If there is no guild in your community a member of ACA will be pleased to share information on how to get started. Contact our ACA administratior to change a listing or seek assistance.
